Vote for the Webware 100

February 25, 2008 · 1 Comment

I just voted over at the Webware 100. You can choose your favorite 3 products in 10 categories like: Publishing & Photography, Browsing, Search & Reference, and Productivity.

Under Browsing I voted for:

  • PicLens (it’s just fun to play with)
  • Firefox (if you’re not already using it…it’s time to wake up)
  • Google Reader (I really like how fast and functional it is. Keyboard shortcuts are a must.)

Under Utility & Security I voted for:

Under Productivity I voted for:

Go vote for your favorites.

Huckabee is Out of the Running!

February 1, 2008 · 1 Comment

The HucksterOkay, I’m not trying to start any rumors here, he hasn’t officially dropped out. But c’mon people…he’s out. He has absolutely no chance of winning. He’s got almost no supporters left and now he’s only dividing the vote causing conservative voters to have to choose between himself and Romney.

That is very good news for John McCain. So…here’s our chance to see what he really stands for. At this point he has two options, and the one he chooses is going to reflect heavily on his character.

Option 1: Bow out of the race.

If he really represents a conservative platform and wants a conservative president in office, he’ll bow out now giving Romney a chance to win the conservative vote in Tuesday’s primaries.

Option 2: Stay in the race.

This is what he’ll do if he just wants to be in the white house regardless of the consequences. He’ll stick around knowing that he’s dividing the vote, in the hopes that McCain will thank him by making him his running mate. The problem is…that’s what all the other candidates are hoping too…and I guarantee there are more qualified options than Huckabee.

My money’s on option #2. He hasn’t displayed himself to be a real upstanding individual and I foresee that he (like most of the candidates) just wants to be in the white house no matter the cost. “We see right through you Mr. Huckabee.”

So what can we do as Americans? Don’t even consider Huckabee when you’re in the voting booth. Choose who you actually want to be president, don’t vote for a losing cause.

(Note: This post admittedly shows some of my true colors with regards to politics. But regardless of the camp you’re in you should consider these dynamics. Apparently Ralph Nader is hoping to make a bid for presidency. This puts him in the same position (strategically) as Huckabee so if you vote Democrat…be aware.)
